Jean J. Labrosse - Founder, CEO and President

Jean Labrosse founded Micrium in 1999 and continues to maintain an active role in product development, ensuring that the company adheres to the strict policies and standards that make it strong. Labrosse is a regular speaker at the Embedded Systems Conference in Boston and Silicon Valley, and other industry conferences. He is the author of two definitive books on embedded design: MicroC/OS-II, The Real-Time Kernel and, Embedded Systems Building Blocks, Complete and Ready-to-Use Modules in C, and has published numerous articles and appeared on industry panels on the subject of embedded design. He holds BSEE and MSEE degrees from the University of Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada.

Christian E. Legare - Vice President

Christian Legare joined Micrium as Vice President in 2002. Before joining Micrium, Legare spent  22 years in the telecom industry as an executive in such large-scale organizations as Telegloce Canda and in engineering and R&D startups. He was in charge of an IP (Internet Protocol) certification program at the International Institute of Telecom (IIT) in Montreal, Canada. He is a regular speaker at the Embedded Systems Conferences in Boston and Silicon Valley and has published several articles on embedded systems. Legare holds an BSEE and MSEE from the University of Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada.

Michael E. Phipps - Director of Business Development

Michael (Mike) Phipps, as Director of Business Development, draws upon a solid background in engineering, sales, and marketing. As Director of Marketing at Altera Corporation, Phipps helped create the Nios embedded processor, developing post-launch strategies to make it ubiquitous in the market place. At the Tektronix performance oscilloscope division, Phipps worked in both sales and marketing. He also worked on the team at John Fluke Manufactuirng that developed devices for the first high quality solid state digital multimeter. Phipps studied chemistry and physics a the University of Washington.

Carolyn T. Mathas - Director of Marketing

Carolyn Mathas comes to Micrium after serving as an editor for such TechInsights properties as Network Systems DesignLine, Mobile Handset DesignLIne and CommsDesign, and Sr. Editor at PennWell's Lightwave Magazine and CleanRooms Magazine. Mathas provided marketing and public relations expertise to such clients as Philips Semiconductor, Mysticom, Altera's Santa Cruz Division, and created the launch campaign for the CoolRunner family for the Philips CPLD Business Unit. Mathas also served as Director of Marketing at fabless security IC startup, Securealink. Mathas holds a BS in Marketing from University of Phoenix, and an MBA from New York Institute of Technology.

Brad Fenton- Director of Sales

Brad Fenton is Director of Sales at Micrium.  Prior to joining the company, he had worked independently as a sales training consultant and book publisher.  Fenton holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from Ithaca College.
