The newest MPUs (as of 6/09) have higher-speed superscalar SH-2A RISC CPU cores with on-chip cache memory and are well suited for digital audio, display and control applications.
Renesas Extreme (RX) is the latest addition to the Renesas product family. Designed using next-generation CISC architecture, it is the only Flash MCU (RISC or CISC) with zero-wait-state flash at full speed (100MHz).
